WELCOME TO THE RAVE!
Reeling off 5 straight wins after an 0-2 start, the Baltimore Ravens look like the best team in the league. Led by the electric 2-time MVP, Lamar Jackson, Baltimore has found their stride after trouncing Tampa Bay this past Monday. Following a brutal AFC championship loss to the Super Bowl winning Kansas City Chiefs, the Ravens went into the offseason and grabbed the powerful running back Derrick Henry. All offseason the talk was how impossible it would be to stop Lamar and Henry and it turns out the talking heads around the NFL were spot on because these two are a headache for any defensive coordinator. Derrick Henry has become the perfect ‘closer’ for this Ravens team who were known for giving up leads in the 2nd half last year. Henry is the highest rated running back in 2024 according to Pro Football Focus (PFF), averaging 6.5 yards per carry, 8 rushing touchdowns and 873 total rushing yards at the week 8 point in the NFL season.
Lamar Jackson is must watch TV. If you’re like me, you’ve probably thought about how you would do in the NFL compared to some of these incredible athletes. Watching 2 minutes of Lamar Jackson, you will rapidly realize that sitting on your couch with a cold beer is a much more favorable spot for your physical and mental health. I have watched 20+ years of football and have never been more awestricken by a football player in my life. The only hole in this Baltimore team seems to be their defense, as they have allowed 180 points this year which is tied for 27th in the league, that’s not very good.
HOT TAKE: My Baltimore hot take is not steaming hot it’s more like a pot of water that has recently reached its boiling point, but I think Baltimore will win the Super Bowl and Lamar Jackson will win his 3rd MVP, cementing his NFL legacy.
